The Names of God: Elohim & Yahweh | Bishop Mitchell Corder
Bishop Mitchell Corder shows us scriptures that reveal the multifaceted nature of God as Creator, Restorer, and Personal God.
As Elohim, He is the all-powerful Creator who brought the universe into existence out of nothing (Genesis 1:1; Hebrews 11:3), and the Restorer who transformed the formless and empty earth into a place of beauty and order (Genesis 1:2).
As Yahweh, God reveals His personal and eternal nature, declaring Himself as “I AM” to Moses (Exodus 3:14-15). This name signifies His unchanging presence and intimate relationship with His people. Yahweh is compassionate, gracious, slow to anger, and abounding in love and faithfulness, forgiving wickedness and sustaining love for generations (Exodus 34:6-7).
Together, these aspects portray a God who is both transcendent and personal, powerful yet intimately involved in His creation.
